City of London Corporation: tax report design
az.design was given the opportunity to pitch design concepts for a total tax report, for the City of London Corporation. Up against three other agencies, our proposal was successful and we were commissioned to work on the 32-page report and a 2-page infographic.
The report design concept was based on fibre optic data lines intertwined with people – reflecting the increasing digitalisation within the finance field and the people behind the taxes.
The report included creating a complex colour palette to incorporate all the different types of taxes alongside producing an attractive colour wheel. The entire project took two months to complete and ran on schedule. The full report and infographic can be found on their website here:

Working with Angela has been a pleasure, she took the time initially to fully understand our brief and as a result AZ Design produced a fantastic report and infographic based on the total tax contribution of UK financial services in 2019. When we asked Angela for a colour code to be developed to illustrate a set of complicated taxes, we weren’t initially sure whether this would be possible, but AZ Design excelled at the task and even identified an area we had missed. The result was a visually engaging report that guides the reader through a technical area. They also provided us drafts to review in advance of the deadline a few times, which was really helpful.
